Default Schedule it in

I find that if I don't schedule in exercise, I don't do it. I make sure to at least take 45 minutes to an hour every night to take my dog for a walk. We live in the middle of a hill, so I go up to the top of the hill and then back to my house. When I miss a few nights, I start to feel it again.

Great idea I wish I had the time to schedule exercise in. It's busy in the Spring with kids and sports. I do try to walk every night. I will walk for the 30 minute warm-up before games and I also walk at home on non-game nights.

I use to do an exercise video every day at nap time. Now I have a baby who doesn't sleep the same as the other kids, so that is out!

Springtime is so busy that it is hard to schedule in the exercise, but even taking that nightly walk helps.

Indeed having smaller kids in life does not make the moms stick to any schedule that she has. Hence, in as much I could, I do take the walking form of exercise.. and as often as I could. That way, even just running errands, I can already do my exercising and accomplishing errands at the same time.

Oh well.

Kids do always take over moms don't they.

You know the doctor says its alright whatever time it is that you will exercise as long as you do.

You can even just exercise for about 15 minutes per day as long as you get
sweat.

Going out for a little sun too is would be helpful to stimulate melatonin in our bodies.

We are living in a fast world. If we won't schedule it we cannot be doing regularly. Even if we put schedule we may miss sometime but not many times.

I agree, scheduling is so important. I find that if I say "I want to jog for 30 minutes" if I don't do it in the morning before work so many unexpected day to day things stack up and get in the way. I have to force myself to get it out of the way before I've woken up enough to argue with myself or it won't happen! Fortunately I love walking the dog, I beg my fiance to wait til I'm home so we can all go together. Finding something you enjoy makes it a lot easier.

All you busy mums, I bet a pedometer would tell you you're rushed off your feet and walking around more than any of us

Pedometers are a great way to see exactly how much walking moms actually do during the day. I have to dig mine out. I use to make sure to take so many steps each day. If I was low at the end of the day, I would vacuum or something to get some more steps in.

Thumbs up Hi

I also do exercise daily for 45 minutes. But when I miss it for a week or two it's really hard to come back. But I find other ways to complete it. Like dancing, playing with kids. Spending time more time with kids and laugh a lot with them.
(My brother's kids)

You can do one thing. As you said you go to the top of hill. Fresh air must be there. You can breathe deeply for 5 minutes. Same time you can get more benefit.

In my busy life scheduling in time for exercise is also difficult for me, I really have to get into the routine and dedicate a fixed time for exercise, and then once im into the fixed schedule time for at least a week then i get into it and the scheduled time just falls into place.

I agree. I think it needs to be planned ahead of time and also it helps to have someone to do it with. If I were to do it alone.. it would never get done.
