Default Wii and Wii fit

How many people have a Wii console?

I do and I love it. I especially love the Wii fit game and the Wii sports. Both are very active.

They are both great for a good workout- yes I'm sweaty when I'm done working for 30 minutes to an hour.

Anyone else think the Wii console and games is a good form of exercise?

I have not tried one yet, but I want to! I hear it is a lot of fun. I also like those that give you some dancing steps with music, so you are basically dancing as you exercise.

I really want to get a WII. My son has one and my other kids go over to his house to play with it. They all love it.
My neice is a little heavy and she actually lost some weight since they got their wii. She loves the boxing.

I'm telling you that boxing is awesome. I always break out a sweat and feel like I'm going to hit the TV. I get so mad-- you knock them down and they get right back up. Depending on the level of your competitor, the higher levels they get up more times. It's like stay down already!

Oh, boxing sounds good!! Do they provide boxing gloves? It would probably help to deal with life's frustrations - you know, when you feel like punching someone.

I tried playing sport games in Wii.

My shoulder and legs were aching after a while.

Besides that you're enjoying the game, you're also being exercised.

I have a Wii. My brother gave it to me as a gift last Christmas. I kept pestering hi to buy me one. Haha.

And yep, I have Wii fit. Bought it to lose some weight. Walking bores me so I thought i'd enjoy it better.

I have a Wii and Wii Fit. I love them and think that Wii Fit is a good form of exercise. The 10 minute boxing kicks my ass and the strength training and yoga exercises are very effective. I toned up and lost all of my arm flab solely with Wii Fit, and I only play it for 30-60 minutes a few times a week.

I prefer Wii Fit because I tend to strain myself on Wii Sports, whereas Wii Fit keeps my aggression in check.

Lissy: there are no boxing gloves; you use the Wii-mote and nunchuck as gloves. But the boxing (both on Wii Sports and Wii Fit) is indeed an effective way to release frustration.

I have played wii a few times in friends' places and I think it is a
very poor substitute for the real thing. Of course if you don't have
a basketball court, tennis court or bowling alley that you can regularly visit
then you can go for a wii.

But the experience of playing is extremely underwhelming.
The real bowling ball weighs 14 pounds but the wii bowling
feels weightless. There is also no tactile feedback remotely
resembling the real deal.

Oh well, it is not for everyone, certainly not for me where
I would rather hit a few tennis shots in a real tennis court
and shoot baskets in a real basketball court.

I love my Wii. I just have the Wii sports game and I do just an hour and a half every Thursday afternoon. It makes you feel great.

My personal favorites are the tennis and boxing, you really do work up a good sweat if you throw yourself into it. I also agree that the boxing is a great stres reliever.

My best friend brought over her Wii fit and we did some yoga and other sports on it. Boy I felt it the next day! But I loved it.I plan on buying one,as my daughter who has cerebral palsy loved it as well and did pretty good at it too. I am hoping this may help her develop her strength.

Jellyfish- have you tried the EA Active for the Wii. I want to get it, it looks like it is a better workout then the Wii fit. There is a 30 day challenge and there are more activities (volleyball too).

I love the Wii sports too. I like the boxing the best. I'm telling you it's a workout. In the Wii fit- I like the hoola hooping- Man you get swinging your hips so fast. Sweat pours off you!

The hula hooping is great but it gives me a stomach ache because I'm always drinking water.

I haven't tried EA Active. I am waiting for Wii Fit Plus to come out!

Wii and Wii fit have become so popular its amazing and it has helped many people keep fit as well as have fun at the same time.
It is defiantly for those who don't like walking and get bored of the same routine of exercise.

And yes people it does burn some calories once you get going.....

There is a Wii fit plus coming out? Man those Wii makers are sitting on a gold mine.

I drink a lot of water too when playing and working out. Hula hooping doesn't bother me though. I hate the advanced when you have to hula hoop the wrong way.

The EA Active looks like it's a great workout.

Smile To Wii or not to Wii that is the question

[QUOTE=KrisNY;935]How many people have a Wii console?

I do and I love it. I especially love the Wii fit game and the Wii sports. Both are very active . Some of my favorites are bowling, boxing, and the tennis . You really do get a work out . And yes you do sweat alot if you are working hard enough . I know that a lot of businesses are giving their employees bonuses if they play for a half hour after work or before . Has anyone taking that challenge at work ? How has it worked out for you if you have .

Well were I live a lot of the companies that offer this benefit to their employees are the , hospitals, commission on aging and some private doctors offices. In fact there are some employers that are able to sell the game systems to their employees at a discount so that not only they use it to better themselves but to better their families as well .

It became popular only on recent days. I have one in my home. It is so good to practice yoga. After some days every home will have wii fit.

Default To Wii or not to Wii that is the question

I really could see that happening my husband and I are saving up to get one . He is not the sport type but with the Wii he loves to do the sports like the boxing, tennis, bowling and the Wii Resort . It is hilarious sometimes to watch other play

I totally agree. The Wii console can be an excellent form of exercise. I recently tried the boxing for the first time. Thinking I was pretty good I knocked my opponent down. When he kept getting up I realized I was in for a real fight so to speak. By the time he received the final count, I had worked up a great sweat. It is also a good exercise program for the family. My five year old just loves the bowling and the baseball. I am so glad to see her having fun, and moving around!
