Default Exercising Your Brain

Everyone seems to think about/remember to exercise their bodies, but what about our brains? I think positive thinking is so beneficial to us. Let's make a list of things that we are thankful for, get off our day to a good start

I am thankful for:
being able to live where I do
having such amazing/supportive people in my life
my creativity and willingness to learn
that I never let my anxiety, depression or OCD get ahold of me
my pets, they distract me when I'm feeling blue
my amazing bf. I couldn't ask for anything more

Thank you very much for the picking up the really interesting topic of the brain's training. I'm absolutely sure that our brain demands the training the same way as all our body. I think that people degrade when they stop thinking in the positive way.

I agree with you. I feel like after I got out of high school, I started to become a zombie or something. I wasn't very creative anymore and couldn't figure out the simplest of things. Now, I'm 20 and I'm starting to read again and do things that keep my mind going. I also thinks it helps fight alzheimers.

The brain is very important to take care of. Too many people neglect their minds in favor of their bodies. There are all sorts of diseases linked to brains that don't stay active. My mom says that it's important to keep your mind active and read.

I especially think it helps to keep your mind active when you have anxiety like I do. It helps me stay out of that depersonalization stage. Ick!

That's a great idea! I am grateful for many things in my life, big and small. Some of them are:

My caring mom
My husband
My home
My three funny cats
My part-time job
My friends
Good books and movies
Parks
Short vacation we have just taken

It is indeed important to count your blessings!

I agree. I think it can be very easy to get lost in the things that are wrong and forget to notice all the good things around you. I'm sure all of us will find that there are always more good things going on than bad.. we just forget about the simple stuff that we take for granted

I am thankful for everything that is currently surrounding me, even the less desirable things because they serve as a lesson to remind me that I create all my situations and circumstances. I am especially thankful for my two amazing daughters, my loving husband and my great health.
