Default Sit-ups

I do a lot of sit-ups, but I often get a sore back. What is the proper way to do situps?

The best way that I've found to do sit-ups is by staying up towards your knees.. if that makes any sense. Basically, instead of going back down all the way to where your back touches the floor, stay up closer to your knees. It's a lot easier on your back
