Default Fun exercise

An exercise regiment is so much easier to stick to when it's fun. My boyfriend and I go for regular walks and hikes through some of the local wildlife preserves, and it doesn't feel like exercise at all - but at the end of the hike, you can definitely feel all the miles you've walked!

My animals have been amazing at helping keep an exercise regiment. I take my horse out on a regular basis, either riding or just walking the trails. That definitely doesn't feel like work!

Any other suggestions for making exercise fun?

I love to dance. In the past, I used exercise videos, now I put on my headphones, turn up the volume and dance until I cannot dance anymore. I have also found that adding music to daily chores and activies gets my blood flowing and my heart rate up.

I always loved the idea of knights, horses and chivalry... there was something really romantic of the legends of the Knights of the Round Table and their faithful horses. Sure, history wasn't really like that, but the stories were great! I always loved the faithful companionship that horses are so amazingly good at, too. I never outgrew it, and was lucky enough to get my own horse - it's a life-changing experience!
Do girls in rural India have a horse loving phase ?

Default With my family

I ride my bike with my daughter across the local dam or up the street. I snorkel with both of them. We do everything together. On a nice cool day we are in the front yard throwing a Frisbee or playing in the sheets that are hanging up to dry.
We don't do the conventional stuff at all.

Why do you ask that? I think many think that majority of people on the forum are from India!!! But there are people from all around the world, but when talking some always relate it to India.

Back to the thread, my fun way of exercising is cycling, its something I enjoy and also get some exercise out of it.
Dancing is also something I enjoy and again a good and fun way of exercising, which is why me and friends get together and dance to good music, it all started when I was in halls and now is still carried on till now

One way of making exercise fun is to do it with some else. This way you won't get bored so easily.

Sounds like a fun time. I guess your daughter's really glad that you're with her.

I agree that it is fun when you work out with someone else . It makes it seem like you are not really working out and that is what I enjoy . Alot of the time I am working out with my husband . But lately because he is away from home alot I do exercise by myself

Some people find pleasure in try to challenge themselves or someone else. To reach a goal, and once you hit that goal, make another one. Doing anything that you love, won't feel like work, and you will have fun.

Default Fun Exercise

You are right Dboo,
I am here to agree and tell you that when you do the things that you love and enjoy it is not work at all . In fact I can say that after 2 weeks of bike riding I have lost 8 pounds and it did not seem like work .

Music makes exercise fun. Instead of counting reps, watching the clock, or labouring through specific programs, try music to make the activity fun. One half hour of exercise can be daunting, but listening to 5 or 6 of your favorite songs makes the time fly. Choose your favorites that get you fired up and your activity will not feel like exercise, it will only feel fun. Making exercise a positive experience will go far in making your goals acheivable.

I like the idea of distracting things while exercising - music, television... it makes the time go faster.

I've always wanted to be ambitious enough to bike to work... seems like that would make the commute more fun, too - and make you feel like you're accomplishing something on the way.

And yes, I admit to being partial to horses while loving any kind of animal. It's seemed to be one of those universal concepts - no matter what country you're in or from, there's a connection between people and animals that seems unmistakable... the animal might vary, but most people know the feeling that comes with it!

The most fun that I've had with exercising is whenever I'm riding my bike. I think that swimming or anything that involved some form of martial arts would be a lot of fun to do, too.

You are so lucky to live near a place with walking trails! There is a wonderful park where we walk on a rare occasion - rare because it is not nearby, so it is not easily available. I agree that walking and hiking is excellent, and it does not feel like hard work at all.

Another exercise that I think is fun and easy is swimming.

I think exercise can be a lot more fun if it had another use to it. Like if our mode of transportation and exercise were one in the same, then I know I would enjoy it a lot more.

That is one thing that I do . Because I do not drive I walk and ride my bike all the time so that is one way that I stay active and still stay fit .

Thumbs up

It's great having exercise with fun. It's good that you are benefited by doing something of your choice. I like dancing so I like to dance anytime at my house. We have 2 kids at our home so i do dance with them. I also play with our kids. Playing games with them is really enjoyable. It's also gives me lots of happiness when I see them happy. Their different activities like making faces and doing something different makes me laugh.
