Pregnancy and childbirth are some of the most joyful events of life. Once they get pregnant they breath a sigh of relief however, this is just a partial relief. The most important factor is to see to the successful delivery of the baby. The pregnancy period is one of the most crucial time and we need to take all the precautions so that we can deliver a healthy baby.

If we are careless during pregnancy, we may not be able to deliver a healthy baby. There can also be so many other complications that can crop up during pregnancy. Therefore, it is not an easy task to get through the pregnancy successfully. However, the good news is that today we have solution for all types of pregnancy issues. The medical field is so advanced and there is no issue that cannot be handled. This however does not mean that we can be careless. We need to take the precautions that we are supposed to so that our baby will be healthy.

One of the things that we should do during our pregnancy period is to identify a gynecologist who is experienced and with whom we are comfortable. We should go for regular monthly checkup so that our gynecologist can review the growth of the baby and the health conditions of the baby. Your doctor may want you to go for scan tests to find out about the baby’s growth pattern. So you must be faithful to both your monthly check ups and for other tests your doctor prescribes. You will also be prescribed folic acid and iron supplements and other pills based on your general health condition. Never skip any of these. Try to follow your doctor’s advice to the last detail.

Besides that you must make sure that you take care of your general health too. You must not get fever and run high temperature as this will affect the baby very badly. Your mental health is also equally important. So try to remain cheerful, never expose yourself too loud noise and try to avoid staying in places where you are subjected to cigarette smoke. You should never consume alcohol during your pregnancy period and do not take any other pills without consulting your doctor. Most of us have the bad habit of swallowing pills for cold, headache and other minor discomforts and with the slightest symptoms of discomfort. You must avoid all self-prescribed medication.

Try to be as active as possible without straining yourself. Make sure that you eat healthy food but do not over eat. Regularly check your weight as this is a very good indicator of finding the growth of your baby. However, if you over eat and gain weight during this period, your weight chart can be misleading. So try to take a holistic approach towards your health.

Default Safety Measures to Be Taken During Pregnancy

Do all your household work by yourself. It is the best exercise for normal delivery. But do all with extra care.

Go for proper check up. Have the tablets prescribed by the doctor properly without hesitation. Moreover take healthy food.

A pregnant woman should avoid lifting anything heavy. That includes picking up full laundry baskets, moving furniture while cleaning, etc. So while it is good to stay active and continue to do your housework, you do need to be careful and make some adjustments.

Avoid intercourse from 7th month onwards, it will be risky. Try to avoid travel in an improper road by a two-wheeler. Avoid lifting more weights.

During pregnancy, any food you take, have freshly cooked ones and hot, drinking water should be warm & bathing water should be hot, this helps in free movement of the foetus inside the womb. Avoid cold drinks & food too.
