Default Heartburn during pregnancy

one thing many women suffer from during pregnancy is heart burn and indigestion. I suffered terribly and when I spoke to my doctor he basically told me there was nothing I could do about it even though it kept me awake most nights.

Does anyone here have any remedies or advice for avoiding heartburn?

Maybe it would help if you changed the kinds of foods that you ate during the pregnancy. I know that you're eating for more than one person, and that could effect you differently than it did when you were eating just for yourself. Maybe you could change the times that you eat.

I would advise to switch to "milder" foods, too - nothing spicy, deep fried, etc. You are right, heartburn seems to be one of those pregnancy symptoms that your doctor just takes a note of without offering any solutions.

I agree with Hirami and Lissy.. it could have a lot to do with what you're eating. Maybe what you're eating isn't agreeing with the baby? Just a thought..

Tums are amazing because they aren't really strong. If you have a sensitive stomach, they're great!!

I was told to take Pepto by my doctor, but not for heartburn, I did not have that. It was mostly because I could not eat much, so he said Pepto helps to balance things out, digestion-wise. Perhaps it is good for heartburn as well.
