Default Is Ultrasound helpful during pregnancy?

A pregnant lady is required to go for Ultrasound scan by the doctor time to time. Ultrasound scan is done with a sonar device which shows things in fluids with help of his frequency sound waves, which human ears can not listen. It’s a very easy procedure and hardly takes 10 to 15 minutes. The patient is required to drink lots of water and do not urinate before the scan for giving the best ultrasound report. The pregnant lady is required to undergo ultra sound scan for about three times minimum. The First scan should be done after 6-7th week, second at 18 to 20th week and the last one around 38th week. Unlike x-ray, ultrasound has no effect on the foetus and is completely harmless.

My doctor has done two ultrasounds for our baby, just as you say. It is a harmless procedure that checks the baby's development. The second ultrasound, done on the 5th months, can tell you the baby's sex.

I always liked looking at my mom's ultrasounds (she's been pregnant a few times when I was old enough to understand). It's so amazing to be able to see something that you normally would have to wait to see. It really fascinates me.

Well it's really useful for knowing the details on how the baby is doing. Makes you feel secured everytime the doctor would tell you that the baby is in normal position.

I loved getting the ultrasound done during my pregnancies. I even have the video tapes of them (at the time they were not offering them on DVD). It is so wonderful to be able to see what's growing inside of you and anticipate the arrival - I think it's one of the most intense feelings that a mother to be can experience.

My doctor said that there are families who want to have ultrasound done every time they come for a check-up visit, which is about once a month, but the doctor will not do that. While the procedure is harmless, she said it is unnecessary to do more than twice during a normal pregnancy.

When my mom was pregnant with me, she did not get an ultrasound. I don't know why she didn't; she got one when she was pregnant with my older brother. She said that she knew what my gender was before I was born.

That's always fascinated me when people know what the gender is before the baby's born. Wow!
