If you are pregnant and suffer from feet swelling ever now and then, then you have to take special care of the problem. Try to rest your feet. Rest them towards the upward position by arrange a pillow beneath. You will have to cut down on the salt intakes as it leads to blood pressure fluctuations and causes swelling in the feet. To avoid dehydration of the body drink a lot of water. Try drinking barley water as it reduces swelling and if you drink a lot of coffee or alcohol then please avoid it. You can also dip you feet in cold water and try to relax.

| Hmmm.. I've never been pregnant, but when I was a cashier my feet used to swell REALLY bad. I was like 18 at the time. (now 20) I used to soak my feet in hot water, and it just felt amazing. I wonder if cold water is better.. hmm. That does make sense though, because when something's swollen you put ice on it.. I may have been doing it wrong.

It is quite common for pregnant women to experience some foot and ankle swelling, from what I hear. Getting your feet up is a good advice - sit down and place your feet on another chair, or lie down and have them up on a pillow. Staying off your feet as much as possible, sitting vs. standing, also helps.
