Here is a Question for all the ladies
Has anyone heard that if you drink a glass of wine a week it helps increase your blood flow and your heart . I was told to do this during my pregnancy ..anyone else heard of that

I have never heard of that advice; however, I would want to know if the wine would affect the baby? I have heard that drinking during pregnancy could cause a low birth weight.

The doc told me that if i were to have 1 glass a week with a meal it would not harm the baby ... She said that it would help my heart and Iron... I was worried about the alcohol and the baby as well

Doctors can't agree on how much alcohol is OK during pregnancy and that is why they generally suggest staying away from it all together.

There could be other healthy options than drinking wines. Do you agree? I don't think this would be fine when one is pregnant. We are advise by the doctor not to drink wines because it would harm the baby. For me, regardless of the amount, alcohol would not be good pregnant mothers.

I wasn't saying I hadn't heard it. I have heard about having a glass of wine a week. Yes, some doctors suggest it, but in general, they do not.

To clarify my previous post. Most experts will agree that alcohol in small amounts will not harm the baby, BUT nobody knows at what amount it is not ok, so that is why they suggest staying away.

Well since majority said that they're not sure about the effects of this to the baby then you should just stay away from it. Better to stay safe than be sorry.

I would agree with you , it is so hard sometimes to know if what the doc is telling you is true or not anymore .

The doctors can be trusted. I haven't heard that they would allow pregnant women to drink wine. Anyway, if you know yourself that alcohol is bad then, why should you drink it? In the end, you will decide what would be good for you and the baby.

I have never heard of that either. What w
kind of wine your doctor advised you to drink? Try to research about it also before drinking.

During my first pregnancy, my doctor had recommended the same thing to me, but since I don't really like wine, I didn't even think of having any. Second time around, I had to see a new doctor and he told me to strictly stay away from all alcoholic beverages, including wine all together. Contradiction at its best!

Strange... I always hear that pregnant women should stay away from any kind of alcohol, and here we have some doctors suggesting wine. I would opt for grape juice myself, it is safer.

I've heard that too, but I'm not sure. It doesn't sounds like a very good idea. To be honest.. I would talk to your doctor and see what they say. Maybe even get the opinions of two.. just to be safe

I talked to several obgyns and they said that the reason that they may have suggested that was for the simple fact that it thins the blood and at the time my blood was really thick . I am not saying it is right but that is what they said
