Default Saffron in pregnancy

Having keshar added in milk for pregnant women will give a nice fairness to the child, and dry fruits will give chubbiness for the child, born with both of these, a child will look very cute and pretty.
Mother also will have nice glow and complexion when she uses these items.

Is this true ?? I have heard saffron purifies the blood but since melanin ( the pigment that gives skin color ) is not an impurity I do not see how saffron will aid in influencing the baby's complexion. I feel that this is a myth that came about as people in the areas that saffron grows in are naturally fair skinned.Although Saffron in milk probably does have some other benefits...

And anyways whats the major obsession with fair complexion... ? Why not focus on health.. brains .. growth ....................... ??

I think it is just an old wives tale in India that saffron improves the
baby's complexion.
(probably spread by the saffron industry)

I'm sure grandmothers made up all this to make their pregnant daughters consume some saffron Saffron is great to help digestion, prevent acidity; it also purifies blood and is a known anti-inflammatory. Nuts, too, are rich in nutrients and all doctors recommend eating a handful of nuts, especially during pregnancy.

Having saffron in milk will not give you a fair baby, its a misconception. Its genes which decide what skin color your baby will have....and you should love your child whether its dark skined or fair skinned......how does skin colour of your child matter?
