Having struggled with weight for numerous years, a friend and I decided to take a trial - we are similar weights, seem to have similar problem areas and have similar fitness levels - this trial has been so much fun - we just made it up - but wow the difference! We made a menu plan for both of us, where the meals were the same, but for every item of meat that she ate - I substitued with a meat replacement like soya, tofo quorn and the like, or and sea food product. Whilst she ensured her meats were all cooked in a healthy way, were the lowest fat possible etc, I totally trashed her on the weight loss front. So we swopped - and immediately she started trashing me! We are soo chuffed we just thought we'd share with as many other people fighting to loose weight - needless to say we are both now veggie /fish eaters and havent been near meat since - and both still loosing slowly - whooohooooooo!!!! Anyone have any experiences the same as this~?? Angel x |

Wow! I think I should try it as well. There are many ways to loose weight but I never thought of being one of the vegetarian. I am a meat eater but lately I try to eat more fish than meat. I heard it would take a long time before your system totally accept it, am I right? Well then I guess, I should try eating veggies now. |

I think it's still best to eat a balanced meal. But eating plenty of veggies will help you become fit. You can also have some meat but not too much(daily). It should be in moderation.

I agree. If one is vegetarian then half of your diet troubles are over. Having said that vegetarianism is no sheild against being overweight. If you wish to lose weight, you probably would need to include some exercise and some diet changes in your life.A few changes in your diet can help. For instance, try including more salad and fruits in your diet. Every time during the day when you feel hungry between the meals- don't go for chips or biscuits but try and have salad, something like a finely chopped onion, with a finely chopped tomato and cucumber with salt and lemon would be tasty and healthy and filling, all at the same time. Make sure you include a lot of juices. For instance my personal favourites are SIL juices- especially mango and mixed fruit juices. Juices are easy to digest and plus they will keep you from going weak and feeling tired, when you are on the diet. If you haven't exercised in past. starting with a 1 hour brisk walk or a 45 minute jogging would be a place to begin from. If you purposefully avoid ghee and all to stay slim, don't do it for a while, some fats are necessary for the proper functioning of your body. You can also try Yoga, but you need to consult an expert atleast for a month, after you learn the basic exercises you can probably do that at home, all by yourself. Good luck and all the best. |
