Default Constipation Help

I have a slow digestive system. I do not eat meat because it takes many days to exit my system and when it does, it is painful. I can eat fish without any problem. I mainly eat soft foods and drink liquids (mostly water). I don't want to take medication to relieve my constipation. Can you suggest any natural means to relieve constipation?

Yes, prune juice is the best relief from constipation. If you want to go for something more drastic though, castor oil is your other option. It will definitely work.

Anything rich in fiber or whole wheat grain will a big help to you. If you like granola or wheat bread, you can find relief if you don't like stirring that fiber powder into your water.

My dad drinks prune juice every single day for this same problem. Most people wouldn't wanna go this route, but he does use quite a bit of hot sauce. I'm sure that's terrible for his body, but it helps him a lot

Firstly, you need to have high fibre diet regularly, and low oil diet. Fibres like greens, oats, etc, banana and oranges are good in fibre, easily digestible and good laxatives to.

Real fruit juices and any soft fruit usually work for me best.

I have never gone down the prune juice route before.

If you have slow digestion then you should be changing your diet to a higher fibre one may be best in the long term for you.

Beets work great to clean you out! I know that for sure because our whole family likes beets, so I cook them a lot, and we are all aware about this, uh, "side effect," so to speak.

Thank you for all the great advice. I have been drinking 8 ounces of prune juice a day and it is a great difference. I see results daily. I have not tried the beets, but I plan to in the future. I read an article that described many health benefits of eating beets.
