Default 6 Glasses of Water a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

Have you ever thought of water as a medicine? Water therapy advocates the use of water as a means to improve health.

The usual procedure of water therapy is to drink about 6 glasses of water first thing in the morning. This water is said to remove the toxins from the body. A major effect of water therapy is prevention of constipation. The major advantages of water therapy includes glowing skin, prevention of acidity and regulation of body temperature. The water therapy fanatics claim that diseases like diabetes, hypertension and even cancer can be controlled by water therapy.

An aspect of water therapy that I found handy is that it can be practiced at home by anybody. When I started trying water therapy, I found it rather hard to down 6 glasses of water together. So, I started slowly with three glasses at first and slowly increased the quantity over a fortnight. Within few days, I found that the extra water does add a glow to my skin. As to the other benefits, I can't validate the results as claimed by the other experts but I did not find any disadvantages other either other than needing more bathroom breaks.

Nowadays, water therapy is gaining popularity as a method of weight loss. Increased water in the body is supposed to increase the metabolic rate and thereby burn more calories. I would say that this technique being easy, you should give it a trial.

This is in addition to any water you are consuming due to exercise. Also, if you eat a dry diet you need more water than someone who eats a lot of fresh juicy fruits!

I have read this somewhere that drinking water as in the morning is really helpful. I am also trying to increase my water intake in the morning. As soon as I wake up I try to drink 2 - 3 glasses. I hope to add more in time.

Hi Deepa02,
Not sure about 6 glass but I think drinking at least 12 glass of water prevents you from many major illness.
Like over weight, anxiety, stress, depression, diabetes and cancer.
