Default Rose Petal preserves

Back when I was a kid, I remember trying homemade Rose Petal preserves / jelly at a friend's house. It was pink and sweet, it smelled like roses, and it had actual petals in it, too. I loved it. I wonder whether anyone else makes it or at least has a recipe?

That's really interesting. I never knew anyone made something like that. That sounds really fun!! Yum

Yes, I still remember how impressed I was. That lady had many roses in her garden, so she would pick up fallen petals and make this jelly. We now have a large rose bush in front of our house, and when it blooms it always reminds me of that jelly, making me wish I had the recipe.

I'm sure you could find it online. Or, ask on yahooanswers.com and I'm sure someone will know

Try this; chop rose petals coarsely (say 1 cup) & blend with sufficient water. Pour into a pan subjected to low heat carried out for 20-30mins for infusion of rose petals.
Add 3 cups of powdered sugar to above mixture. Simmer on low heat with uniform stirring until sugar is dissolved. Add lemon juice (20ml) or marketed citric acid & pectin continuing simmering on low heat until mixture begins to set. Store in sterilized jars, seal & refrigerate.
You can also blend different flavors by using flavored pectin/jelly mixture. I liked mixture of strawberry & rose flavored jelly. I also make sweet rose spread (rose preserves) called “gulkand” at home & use it as garnish.

Wow that's a lot of ingredients needed. I'm not quite sure about it though coz I haven't tasted anything like it. I've always loved roses but there's no way I could grow one here. I tried to but I failed lol.
