Default Decorating my Daughters Room

One of the rooms I have most enjoyed decorating is my daughters room, as a kids room is very exciting and fun to decorate!

Its really good when the time to decorate comes and even the preparation for decorating as you can really involve your children and it makes them happy gives them a chance to make some decisions themselves (regarding colour and things to include in the bedroom).

Its important to use enough lighting in the room, and make it as cosy as possible, which can be done by adding teddy bears, lamps, cuttings of their favourite Disney or cartoon characters!

Also colour of a girl's rooms means a lot to her, so try to use shades of pink, peach in pastal, it gives a natural girlish look to the room. Don't forget to add on a study table and chair for your kid.

My daughter picked the color of her room. She wanted light blue. We took a stensil and painted butterflies and flowers around the room. Then I bought her a yellow and light blue comforter. Her room is darling. I loved decorating it.

Sounds like my daughters room before she moved downstairs - Antk. It was purple though with butterflies.

When she moved to the downstairs bedroom she wanted a beach room. Her room is now tan for sand on the bottom of the walls and blue for the ocean. She has numerous sea shells and sand dollars hot glued to some walls. It is great. Her rug is blue. She had a ball decorating her room. She is 12.

Smile My lighting experience:

When decorating my daughter's room, I could realize how important lighting is!
I was searching for some Murano glass lamps on the web, and found a beautiful one: Muralight. They can design what you need; now my daughter has a princess room!

Great idea! Hot gluing the shells to the wall for a beach room. Are they staying up there or have you had to reglue them?

Giving our children their own room is very important, its a simple way of teaching them to learn how to be independent. I always check and supervise them on their cleaning and decorating their room. We put posters of their favorite artist and etc. How do you help your children?

We really enjoyed decorating our daughters room before she was born, and then a couple of years later. She will be turning six this November and has showed an interest in the design of her room. We will equally enjoy helping her decorate to her tastes, and giving her free reign on colours and designs. We will only pitch our ideas if she is stuck. We need to start shopping for a wild purple paint!

I have just moved into my new place and we are in the process of decorating my two daughters' bedroom as well. It is so exciting, especially since the girls love to get involved and pick their favorite colors, designs and everything else that goes into the room. I am looking forward to see the final result!

I want to paint a mural of Never-Never Land in my childs room when I have kids! I love the story of Peter Pan and Wendy so much!

I think a blue room with white clouds looks amazing. Also, having butterflies randomly painted around the room is nice too
