Default Smell-span of Fragrances

Could anyone tell here what exactly or approximately the smell-span of a pefume? For how long would its smell last? Thanks.

it depends ...on what type of perfume...eau de parfum/cologne, etc...basically, the smell span depends on the concentration of the said perfume and how much you put...

It also depends on the person's body chemistry.
The same perfume can last different times on
different people.

Simplifying a lot a perfume has three stages or layers.

the topnote is the first scent it lasts anywhere between
minutes to hours.

then the middle note comes up and lasts some time.

then the basenotes show up and lasts for a few hours.

A perfume is described in these three layers.

for example say Chanel No. 5 (one of the most famous perfumes in the world)

Top Notes - Ylang-Ylang, Neroli, Aldehydes.
Middle Notes - Jasmine, Mayrose .
Base Notes - Sandalwood, Vetiver.

Another factor is where you apply the perfume, not many people apply it on the right spots (the pulse points). Another factor is how long your perfume is and where you store it. Generally perfumes lose their fragrance after a year of opening them, also make sure you store them away from sunlight.

one thing I think every man and woman should find is the scent that works for them. there is nothing I love more than a man wearing the right calogne for his body. Use people in your life ask them their opinion about smells but unfortunately you have to ask them after you have had it on for say at least 30 miuntes because it will smell very different than what you smell coming out of the bottle...

the smell the works best for me is Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue... I have gotten more compliments on it than I can remember!

The duration of any scent will be determined by the alcohol content. I can guarantee you that oil based perfumes will last all day, and you only need a few drops. To learn more, join my group EarthWhispers on facebook. I make my own perfumes, and can create a custom blend just for you!

The oil based perfumes would really last longer. Well, I am not fond of buying perfumes, I just use whatever is available at home. I haven't heard about the three layers of perfume. That is interesting. By the way, how would you able to determine the real perfume from the fake one?

Is it the pressure of the sales people that turns you off from buying perfume, or the outrageous prices? Don't get suckered in by 3 layers of perfume, it is all marketing to get you to buy more product, because the first just doesn't last!! Actually, chemically speaking, you might never know which is real and which is fake. I can help you find a scent you will love, keep in touch!
