Default The "I Hate Clutter" club :)

Do you hate clutter? I absolutely can't stand it. The way I was raised, every item should have its own place in the house; when you are done using it, put it back.

I am with you. I have clutter too. I can't stand going to my sisters house because you can't even see her dining room table. She gets the mail and throws it on the table, doesn't even look at it. She goes shopping and throws bags of stuff on the table. It is gross to me.

My theory is a clean house is a happy house.

The theory is a "lived-in" house is a happy house. I agree I hate clutter too! It drives me crazy. It seems everynight I am picking up things that other people left in the wrong place. It drives me crazy!

I'm one for tossing the mail on the table. I put mine away (filing cabinet, bill pile, etc.) My sig other will leave his on his side building up. When I can't take it anymore- I take it and throw it on his pillow. He can't sleep with it there- it gets taken care of.

Darn clutter!

I agree with all of you in that I absolutely detest clutter. Unlike you all though I am a habitual offender. I end up having to have a clear out every few months because of the things which I have accumulated.

I am getting better though - I have started to curb my spending habit and so not only will I have less clutter, but I will have more money too.

My worst offence though is leaving everything until the weekend. As I am single and work long hours, I tend to just come home and make a mess - which then irritates me and I have to spend half of my Saturday sorting it all out!

Absolutely I hate clutters so count me in. I want everything packed and organized. I just couldn't begin with the day's work if I see clutters around. I couldn't concentrate on what I am doing because I easily get irritated and annoyed.

I was raised with clutter and I guess that's why I hate it so much now, if it doesn't have a home bin it, that's my motto lol If I could just have bare rooms I would, but my husband might not like that. what I hate the most is toys, god they clutter up the place terrible.

LOL, that's one good way to deal with it KrisNY! We have a mail / papers issue as well, and when my patience reaches the limit, I grab the whole pile, stick it into a box, and put it away in a closet. You want your cr@p - go look in the box. And there is a time limit on the box's life, too: whatever is not claimed / sorted after 2 months will be burned.

I actually hate clutter...but I'm compelled to clutter at the same time! I have a really small house and it's hard to fit everything into it.....being a pack rat makes it worse! I know I just need to get more organized, but it's so hard to make myself get that way and keep up on it!!

I have discovered that since I hate clutter, I have lots of junk drawers. This way I can hid the stuff that I just can't throw away in a junk drawer. Then the problem comes when it is time to clean the junk drawers~ oh, the things I find!

Oh yes, you can find some interesting stuff in those junk drawers or junk boxes... I hate going through them though, my whole being protests and screams, "JUST BURN IT ALL!"

I hate clutter as well. This has always been an issue between my spouse and I. He is as messy and disorganized as they get and I find myself going after him, picking up the mess he makes constantly. Even though we have had many discussions about his bad habits, it has not gotten any better over time. It just drives me insane to see him leave everything lying around and never putting things where they belong!

hey, i like this forum...everyone hates a clutter! i consider myself an OC (obsessive-compulsive), my office table is always organized, stuff in my room are all in their proper places, even the paperworks i have are all alphabetized or arranged according to a particular order. would you consider this too much organizing??

Oh, poor girl! This would drive me insane. My husband is not that bad, but his father is HORRIBLE, so he did not have a good example growing up, and sometimes it shows. But when I ask him to clear something up, he will do it.

I'm with you there, antkmom! I have a roomfull of junk that I can't seem to throw away. And though I don't like clutter, I have my working desk in an orderly disorder, so that when I de-clutter it, I could not find what I am looking for.

I have been in a few houses that were just terrible. The people LITERALLY had stuff all over the place, and the only part of the carpet that you could see was a pathway that went into every room. It was nasty! Trash, old magazines/newspapers, cat food a litter was all over the place. How could you even vacuum. I'm not the cleanest person, but I could NEVER let my house get that bad!!
