Default Recycling

Why is it that it's so hard to find a recycling bin? I notice, there are always tons of trash cans everywhere, but not many to recycle. How are we supposed to help the environment, and keep things clean, if we can't find somewhere to recycle? LOL. I mean, my apartments are a perfect example. You have to walk pretty far to get to it.. many people aren't going to.

Yes, I see the same problem. We recycle pop cans, but I'd love to do more - glass bottles, paper, etc. I don't know why there are not so many places around accepting those materials...

There are Material Recovery Facility nearby my area. They use to collect recyclables and recycle it. They collect papers, empty bottles, glass, plastics and old tires.

Abeja, I hear you! I used to have a very difficult time with recycling too. I was willing and eager to do it, but no place to bring my goods! I have since moved to New York City and here there is mandatory recycling. If we put something recyclable in our trash then we get a ticket! We also have a bottle deposit on soda, sports drinks and water bottles so even when people just throw their bottles on the ground, other people are very willing to pick them up in order to make a little change.

See, this sounds like a great idea. Make it something that benefits people in more way than one. Too many people don't care enough to recycle, but if they are possibly going to get a ticket, or can get some money out of picking up cans, then it helps the environment.
