Default Packing is Stressful

I can't tell you how many times I've had to pack things and organize things! It's no fun! Does anyone have any tips on how to get myself to start doing things. I only have until Saturday to get things done. And, my dad is drunk of his a** AGAIN and I really wish I had somewhere to go right now. I'm tempted to get a hotel

In my experience, packing is nowhere near as stressful as the actual move. Even with all of the right equipment and trucks, moving is hard work, and there's lots of lifting. It's really a workout for me.

You're right. I was very lucky to have 3 guys and another woman helping out in our move. I did the light stuff and they had the truck and moved the couch, bed, table etc. I'm glad I was able to pay them for helping!!!!

Why can't you engage some'packers and movers', if you find it so difficult? You should be able to afford it though!

That's a really good point. I just find it kinda fun to do it myself. It gets me up and moving and then I feel very accomplished when it's all done

Yes packing is stressful, but least you get to see all the rubbish and useless things you have in your home! Although i have only moved once but i found it dreadful, and thank god I had alot of help from my maids to pack which did make things slightly better!

I like to be organized, so when I moved, I started in one room of the house and went threw everything. I went threw everything and had a box to keep and a box to sell. I labeled the box to keep with what exactly was in it and what room it went in.
The actual moving day, I stayed in the new house while the boys and my husband brought the boxes. As they were making another trip to the old house, I started to unpack. It went really smoothly.

It certainly does go much smoother when you keep things organized, and I try to, but I still hate packing, unpacking, arranging, etc. I also hate it when too many things are brought in the house, I feel invaded.

The only thing that makes packing and moving any kind of fun is being able to do it with friends and family. Then, you can joke around and eat all kinds of snacks. I remember that I had pizza and cookies once when I moved.

This time was pretty neat for me, because I was with a bunch of people who are close to me. We were joking around a lot, and I did get to go through stuff and throw away things I no longer wanted. That's always a nice feeling!
