Smile Blogging for Free Books

I have a friend who gets books from publishers for free in exchange for reviewing them on her blog and on a commercial retail website. I have signed up for some of the same publishers, but so far, I've only gotten like two books. Does anyone do this? And if you do, can you suggest a publisher I should look into?

I was always wondering where I could do something like this. I love to read, and I check out books from the library regularly. Can you tell me the name of the site or publisher that your friend does this for? I would very much like to know more!

I have heard that this can be done, but you have to have an established blog or website to get the publishers' interest. So you might have to start out just by writing and posting reviews of books you have read, and then, when the site gets noticed and attracts more visitors, book agents and publishers might start approaching you.

That does make sense, although I was hoping that this may be a tasked that's just outsourced to random people. Still, the information would be nice to have if I can get a hold of it.

The main one that I get books from is Thomas Nelson BLoggers which you can google to get the address. They market mostly Christian genre books, so I dont know if you would be interested in that or not, but occasionally they also have some secular books on there.

Thanks for the info. I'm on the website now, and I'm going to apply. I've always wanted to review books online. I've been doing a few reviews lately on another blog. I'll look online for some more places, and if I find any, I'll be sure to let you know!

That's really interesting. I think it's really cool that you can get free stuff for doing reviews and things. I've never done it myself, but I've met a few people who do it not only with books, but with new technologies and things and then they get to keep the products after testing.
