My girlfriends and I always used to have a little circle where if one of us got a new book, all the others would borrow it. No matter who, no matter how many books. The sharing was just a given. Do any of you do this?

Oh that's a fun thing to do but me and my girls don't share some common interests when it comes to books. The only thing we like to do is shopping and chitchatting. =))

I don't do sharing because we all have different tastes when it comes to books. I love anything and everything that is written about the Universe and spiritual literature but my friends are more into fiction stories. I have no interest in those kind of books, so I purchase used ones to save money or read them online.

Yes, I share books with friends if I know that this is something they are going to love. Unfortunately, most people are too busy these days, so when you lend them a book you can expect it back in half a year, LOL.

Getting books back can become a problem. Sometimes a book is returned, but the condition of the book has greatly deteriorated. I like to buy hard cover books. I loaned a friend a hard cover book but I removed the paper cover because I did not want it destroyed. She read and loved the book but instead of returning it she gave it to her husband to read. Needless to say it has been many years and all that I have is the cover to the book. I keep it around for a good laugh. LOL

We would share books occasionally, but not like every book we bought. We also shared clothes some.

Sharing books is really fun.. We friends used to give a time limit when giving books.. Thank God...my friends and i have not so different choice of books...
