Default Paperback or Hardback

Which do you prefer, paperback books or hardback books? I like hardback books because they last a longer time physically than a paperback, but that slipcover is just so annoying. I'll always love a paperback book. They're cheaper, too.

I agree with you 100%. I personally think, it's much easier to read a book when it's more flexible. The slip covers drive me crazy. I used to throw em away

They're so flimsy, and they tend to fall off a lot when you're reading. Whenever I was reading a hardback book, I used to lift the slipcover to see what the book looked like underneath. I was a little like finding out what a table looked like underneath its tablecloth. Sometimes you're disappointed, other times, you're surprised.

I like paperback books. They are lighter and easier to carry around. In order to protect them, I cover them with self-adhesive transparent protective sheets and this way, I can enjoy them for many years or others to whom I pass them on.

hardback books last more compared with paperbacks. that's why when I buy paperback books I would put plastic cover so I can maintain its quality.

When I was growing up, we had a home library of mostly hardback books (without the annoying covers), so that what I thought books were like. Later on, I was introduced to paperbacks, and I liked this cheaper option, although if I was to buy a book I wanted to have around for many years, I would still prefer hardback.

I never thought about buying protective covers for my paperback books. I guess I should do that. Before, I just tried to be careful, and if they got worn out, that was fine with me. Are these protective covers cheap?
