Great book - I discovered Stephen King when I was about 10 years old, and have religiously read everything he's ever written. His list of great books just goes on and on... It was always one of my favorites, along with The Stand and Tommyknockers. He's really underrated as a serious writer. The horror genre would not be the same if it wasn't for him, and he's had some really amazing non-horror work as well - The Dark Tower springs to mind. A really, really great series if there ever was one. |

I really liked "Carrie," but I didn't find the book scary. (I saw the movie, remake, and sequel first then read the book years later.) I think my not being scared had more to do with my interest in the concept of telekinesis. Did you know that Steven King is credited with having coined the word "telekinesis"?

I am not so keen on horror books or films, but I remember that the movie "Carrie" was shown when I was in college in the 70's. I did not get to see it cuz horror movies gave me sleepless, scary nights then. I didn't know there was a sequel.

I remember reading this book, and it was amazing, the way the story is written just wants you to read more and more. And Steven King well hes just an amazing writer. It also watched the movie, which lived up to the books expectations. |

I read the book, too, just a few years ago. I found myself in a great deal of awe about the concept of telekinesis. It wasn't really scary, just very interesting. I wrote a short story in school that was inspired by "Carrie" the day after I saw the movie, and people were afraid of me. They thought I was going to destroy the school or something.
