Twilight is a popular literary series. The series has four novels with vampire-based fantasy/romance contents. The novels have been written by the American author Stephenie Meyer. The best selling Twilight series follows the life of a human girl Isabella "Bella" Swan. She as a teenager moves to Forks, Washington. Her life takes a turn when she meets a fantastically good looking boy Edward Cullen and falls in love with him, the only hitch is that he is a centuries old vampire. The series is narrated primarily from the point of view of Bella. This makes the reader sympathize with her. As an exception only the epilogue of Eclipse and a small portion of Breaking Dawn are told from the viewpoint of another character Jacob Black. The series consists of four novels, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. A fifth book, Midnight Sun, is also in the works, which is rumored to be the retelling of the first book, Twilight. However this will be narrated from Edward Cullen's point of view instead of Bella’s. As of now the series is currently one of the most popular series ever written for young adults, it has sold more than 25 million copies all over the world, out of which 20 million have been sold in the United States alone. The books are primarily in English but they have also been translated into 37 different languages from all over the world. Twilight has gained much recognition around the world, winning numerous honors. It has been given a New York Times Editor's Choice award, an award for the Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year. It has also been recognized by amazon.com as "Best Book of the Decade...So Far". It has also bee included in the “Top Ten Best Books for Young Adults" and "Top Ten Books for Reluctant Readers" |

I watched the movie first and I got interested on what will happen next so I got the "Twilight Saga Collection". I loved reading the books and were able to finish all of them in two weeks. I love the first book, Twilight and the last one, Breaking Dawn. |

reading the book is much fun than watching the movie, because you get to imagine everything as your own world. i like the way stephenie meyer wrote the book because when you're reading it you feel like you're the character Bella there, you actually get to own the story yourself. the story is so addictive, especially edward, wouldn't you wish Edward was for real?? |

Of course the book is always better than the movie. I didn't really care much for the twilight books. Maybe I'm just getting too old. |

I don't agree... I think the movie was just as good as the book. I watched the movie first and then read the book. I was waiting for things to happen in the book that happened in the movie. great book series. I'm through with Eclipse and just need to buy Breaking Dawn. I can't wait! I have read all 3 of the first books within 1 week. Really when you start you can't put them down. Can't wait to see what happens to Bella next.

I haven't read the book, but loved the movie. I have heard from people who read the book before seeing the movie, that the movie wasn't good. But those who have seen the movie first said that it is just as good as the book.

That is what I think Antk... I watched the movie first. I thought they were both great. I can't wait for New Moon to come out to theaters. After reading all of the 4 books in the series, I'm feeling a little lost. I wish there were more to the series. |

We're the same krisny. I am also waiting the new moon to come out to theater. I'm done reading all the series. It was really great. You'll be excited turning to the next page. This is the first time I've been too serious reading this kind of book. I salute to the author of this (Stephanie Meyer). |

I had read this twilight book last summer. It was really a nice book. The Edward and Bella's love team was the best ever. Can you imagine a vampire and a mortal love each other?

I have watched the movie, and the movie actually sparked my interest to buy the whole Twilight Saga book collection because I'm sure it will be a good read. Anyone here who actually finished the whole set already? What can you say about it?

New moon will be coming out November 20, 2009. My daughter and I just watched, "Twilight". We loved it so we rushed right out and bought books 1 and 2. I only did that because I want to see what happens in "new moon". I think both the book and the movie are great. There are things in the movie that aren't in the book and things in the book that aren't in the movie--so they are all good. |

That is one of the reasons that I love to read the books to the movies to see if I can pick out the differences .... I loved the movie and I am still reading the book .... Love it so far ...

| My daughters were reading the series and talked me into one... I enjoyed it, it was entertaining but they could not believe that I had no desire to finish the series! So I must be getting old, too. LOL

I started reading the twilight book first then watched the movie when I finished. I loved the movie, but loved the book even more. Like it was said earlier, the book is always better than the movie. Reading the book is like watching your own movie in your head. You imagine what they look like, how they move, and everything. I also can't wait till New Moon comes out. I think in November is when it comes out.

I was able to appreciate the book than the movie, no offense to the producers and directors and actors. maybe because in the book you are trying to picture out what is written in the book so you are using your imagination unlike in the movie everything is scripted to the desires of the director. what do you think?

I haven't read the book, but an Italian penpal of mine told me about the series and recommended it to me. I would like to read it, but I wouldn't want anyone to find out that I'm reading it. Maybe I'll read the books once all of the vampire hype cools down.

| I do not blame you , I know alot of people that do that . I think that that is the best thing to do . That way you do not get shall we say caught in all the hype and you really get to see what the movie is truely about with out having a preconceived thought as to what it is going to be like .... if you will in a way you will have a fresh look at things .

| I LOVE these books. I'm working on finishing the last one right now. I LOVE how long the books are and I just am amazed by the way she describes things. I read the book before seeing the movie, so I was disapointed with the movie the first time around, but now it's my favorite movie. It's just hard because when you read first, you expect so much and it's not possible for them to make it EXACTLY the same. What a great author!!!

From the looks of all the vampire hype, I think that I will be waiting for quite some time for the hype to come to an end. The entertainment industry is really going to milk this fad until it's dead.
