In India especially in Hindu religion there is tradition of giving a name to the new born according to his/her horoscope or alignment of the birth stars. An alphabet is assigned by the priest called "Pandit".

Choosing baby names is one of the exciting tasks a mother usually has. From a long list of so many desired names, she makes a short list of those which she finds most befitting her child. The funny part is when you cant choose which one among the two or three that you think most suits your baby, you end up having multiple names for your baby. Poor baby! Shell/He'll surely have a hard time writing down his/her name when he/she goes to school.

The old tradition Hindus of India will stand till the end of the world.not only Hindus but other castes to follow some of the traditional ways to find out the birth star,wealth and prosperity of the child this cannot be changed.and it is progressing day by day..

You are right jessika. Mainly in Indian names, the starting letter will be selected based on Zodiac sign. Now-a-days most of the names are based on numerology.

Do you believe with your horoscope? My friend really believe with her sign (Leo). I can't totally understand the persons who strongly believe with it. What do they get from it?

Well, there are really some who believe with there horoscope, they even arrived at making a babies name.LOL! Do you think it's bad to believe with this? For me, it's just your guide for your future.

It is amazing for those are new to such things or are not aware of the Hindu religion or its traditions! Although I think many are coming out this tradition by getting the first letter of the baby's name from the birth date and time. But in India I think this exists a lot in some places.

I used to be OBSESSED with doing everything based on what my daily horoscope said. My mom got me into it. She used to get worried when it told her anything that she thought related to her in any way. I still find it very fascinating!!
