What names we can use both for boys and girls? Which would you use to name your baby boy or girl? Is it an advantage to choose a unisex name? I mean, if you don't want to know the baby's gender until it is born, it's easier to choose a unisex name instead of a boy or girl's name. I personally love Ashley and Taylor. I also adore Faith, but I have never met any boy named Faith; |

I love Sasha - it is used for both genders and I think it is a beautiful name. As for Faith, I have never heard of it being given to a baby boy, I like the name but it sounds like it would be more appropriate for a girl though.

It is harder for the kids when they get a little older if they have unisex names. I have a boy named Taylor. He gets teased all the time because there is a girl named Taylor in his class. They kids use to tell him that he had a girls name. So just be careful when choosing those baby names. |

That would be one of the biggest concerns if you give your child a unisex name. Over the years these unisex names will begin to gravitate toward a particular gender. The names Morgan, Jordan, and Sidney started out as a boy's name, but now there are more and more girls with this name.

How about the name Alex and Jan? I haven't heard a boy named Faith. Anyway, I like Sasha but it sounds for the girls only. I would suggest those given names to my friend. |

What about Francis? It could be a unisex name as well. I have a close friend whose name is Cyril Francis. She is a girl and it sounds unique. Warren could be another choice too. These kind of names would make you unique.

| Hmmm... I think it would be tough to have a unisex name personally. I mean, I've met some guys named Ashley. I think it's a cute name and I didn't mind it, but they would always get teased in school. If you do use a unisex name, I would really try to boost their confidence about their name as a kid.. not sure how much it would help, but they may then learn to not care as much what the other kids think

I think having a unisex name would get a lot of teachers confused. What if a girl with a male-sounding name started getting mail from the army and other things only related to ment? It would make me very frustated if I had to straighten it out all the time. This isn't a unisex name, but did you know that writer Anne Rice's real name is Howard? It was her mother's idea, but Anne Rice was self-conscious about her name. I think that could become an issue with your child if you gave him or her a unisex name. Unisex name would be cool. There are some boy names that are sexy when girls have it. I think Toni/Tony, Frances / Francis, Alex would be a cool name. I also like the name Ashley as mentioned above.
