when giving the names of your kids do you consider to think that when they grow up they will appreciate the name you gave to them?

To be honest with you, I never considered that when I named my daughters. But I was still careful not to give them names that would be made fun of - kids can be really cruel sometimes. Now that they are 8 and 10, they tell me they love their names though and it makes me very happy and proud that they actually have names that they are proud of.

I hope they appreciate the names I give them. I look for names that are unique, but not weird. I don't want them to be made fun of, but at the same time I don't want an overused name.

Of curse, we have to think also the future reaction of our kids with the name given to them. By the way, did you appreciate well the name given to you? |

Parents should be conscious with giving names. Children appreciate it when they have good one. One important thing to consider, do not make fun with your kid's name. Anyway, what would you prefer, the longer or shorter name?

When my aunt suggested the names for both my kids I did take into consideration of what my kids may think about them when they get older, and thought is it a name that would be taken the mikky out of or not. Of course I would never want to make my kids feel that they have a horrible name. After reading this post, I went to ask my kids just to make sure that they do like their names . Luckily they do, they love their name!

As every name in india has a specific meaning. Parents should choose beautiful name as well as with good meaning. As in the society individual's first identity is his/her name. Name also effect one's personality. Take proper care while naming your baby. Your baby should feel proud of the name given by his/her parents. Then your kids will appreciate the name given to them!

| I think it's best to think about your child when choosing their name and trying to figure out how it will affect them. Kids can be very, very cruel and (for example) I would never want to give my girl a guys name or visa versa. |

I did think about that when naming my kids. I didn't want to pick some off the wall name that they would have to deal with all their lives. I went to school with a girl named Candy Bar! She and her brother Clark Bar were always being made fun of because of their names.

I wonder why my parents gave me such a weird name (I won't tell you what it is ;P). But I get used to it and I try to apreciate my parents and the name they gave me. Who knows they got a hard time finding the most suitable name for me. I hope my upcoming children will as thanks ful as I am |

| I think eventually everyone learns to appreciate their name. I mean, if it is something weird, then you're probably very unique and it's probably nice to have a name that no one else has. My name is Brittany and so, you can IMAGINE how many people in my classes had the same name as me. It was kinda annoying
