Default Choosing your babies name

How did you decide on your babies name? Was it a family name or did you just pick a name out of a book?

All of my kids are named after someone in one way or another. I thought it was nice to name them after a loved one so we always had a memory of our loved ones in our children.

That's a nice thought antkmom!

In my family and my in laws family there is no such tradition to how to name the baby, its whatever we feel is a good and suitable name, we then name the baby as that!

hi, i have 4 kids and we named them with my husband and my name. he's name is Joseph and mine is Maricel. our kids were Jocel, Joseph Jr., Jomari and Jorizel. I hope there will never be another child , because it will be difficult for me to think on the baby's name. our names are exactly for just for 4 kids

I have always been one of those people stressing the importance of a name.

BUT... when I was pregnant with my daughter, I saw the name Brooklyn in a book and fell in love with it. I named her Brooklyn Nikole. The middle name was my neice's middle name, she died a few years before that.

I always felt sort of regretful for not putting more time into her first name though, it had no special meaning to it.

My son is named Aries Phoenix because we are into alot of mythology and stuff. (he is named after Ares, the god of war - not Aries the zodiac sign - it's just spelled that way)

My aunt suggested the names for both my kids, and they were names quite different and weren't similar to names in my family.

That's a good way of naming your kids. I just pick any name that sounds beautiful LOL. They deserve beautiful names which make them proud and not embarassed.
