Default Making your own baby food

I have a friend who always made her own baby food. It was much cheaper than buying the little jars of food and she knew exactly what was in it. Does anyone here make their own baby food?

Yes, I did make my own baby food. It made the progression from weaning to eating like and with the rest of the family much easier.

I started off with some mashed bananas, then went on to give our daughter more or less the same foods as we were eating, just mashed, then cut up into little chunks.

I plan to make my own baby food for our daughter. Those little jars are convenient, but they are very expensive. Mashed fruit or vegetables are not that hard to make.

Yeah those gerbers are really expensive my uncle used to buy them for his kids but sometimes he likes improvising. Mashed bananas is one of his alternatives for gerber.

I occasionally made my own baby food when the girls were babies, but I didn't enjoy that very much, so I went back to the jars. They are very convenient and they contain all the nutrients that babies need.

That's really neat! I think it's great, because then you know, as a parent, exactly what your child is getting. This would be especially nice for kids who are allergic to things. I bet it would be a lot of fun to make and saving money is always a good thing too!
