Default Introduce Solids to your 4-5 months old child

Most of the moms are worried when they have to introduce some solid food to 4 or 5 months old child. You should start feeding your kid with natural food which is available in your kitchen, and should avoid readymade food like cerelac, farex etc… Though they are easy to make but you can use them while travelling only.

You can start with rice starch, pulses soup, suji kheer, mashed banana; you can peel an apple and then grate it and give that apple pulp to your child.

Might be your kid do not like the taste of all these things but you should not stopped giving food to your kid and carry on with milk as child may takes time in developing the tastes of all these things.

Thats what i done with my kids, instead of giving them the ready made food, i made food at home for them, which consisted of fruit, spinach, mashed banana, and other foods which are light i simply blended and fed them! This way they get all the nutrients, vitamins and fresh food!

I watch a little one who is just starting on foods. She loves the real food rather than the store processed baby foods. I feed her yams, cooked carrots, bananas, yogurts.

with mine at those ages, I already gave them mashed potatoes, mashed fruits, tidbits of meats softly-cooked and plenty of juices. Also tomatoes, eggs and some greens as salads. Though my eldest didnt like much of the salads, my youngest loved his feedings of the salads.

I started giving solid food on the 6th month as recommended by the pediatrician. I gave mostly blended food. I cooked beef with broth and put some potatoes, carrots and tomatoes or cooked chicken and broth with squash. I put everything on the blender and divide the blended food into small containers and put them in the freezer. I also give mashed fruits and juices. I only introduced the egg on his first year.

What great suggestions! It seems so empowering to feed your infant homemade baby food rather than store bought. The times that I have fed my baby real food, she has enjoyed it alot better than when I fed her baby food.

I can introduce solid food to my son only in 9 months. Till then feeding and semi solid food only. Don't give directly solid food as it is, mashed and then give to child. So that digestion will be easy.

It's not harmful feeding a 4th month kid a biscuit, they are easily digestible, but sometimes we should take care, like after having milk he/she shouldn't be given as it leads to upset of the stomach.

For me, they are already capable to eat solid food. Of course, we have to stay with them also, they might not chew the food well. Do you think you could already substitute solid food with milk?

Yes that is true. Introduce them to those kinds of food first. It is very nutritious and these will help in their development especially in the development of their brain. My baby girl's first foods are mashed potato, mashed carrots, banana and apple. During the 6 months I introduced her a little bit of rice with banana and sometime rice with broccoli. Try it, it is very nutritious. At the age of 8 months i gave her chicken at very small slice and sometimes fish, together also with rice. My baby now has good immune system and very witty. She knows how to count from 1 to 10 at the age of one year and 3 months.

My mom always used cereal first off, but we would make sure it was really small and we'd soak it i milk to start off with, because she was worried they may choke
