Cumin also called jeera or jiraka (sanskrit- meaning fast acting) Used in loss of appetite & flatulence: Cumin powder + jaggery rolled in to small balls & taken from time to time. Used to increase breast milk secretion: White cumin seeds fried in ghee with sugar for some days after delivery. (1tsp thrice daily with milk) For morning sickness: (pregnancy) tsp of cumin seed powder + lime juice. In jaundice: mixture of white cumin seeds soaked in water overnight. Infusion of which is sweetened with palm candy in morning & drank to increase urine output & reduce fever. In colds & fevers: Water boiled in cumin & ginger Urinary calculi- 1 tsp of cumin with sugar twice a day. Cumin was also found to inhibit platelet aggression.

Its astonishing that such a common spice can be used in so many diseases to relive symptoms. Although I wont suggest taking only herbal remedy for complicated diseases until they are proved & formulated.
