I am completely agreed with you as to Ayurveda. I think that the success of the using of Ayurveda is determined by that that it is the complex of therapies and remedies that cures the whole organism of the patient.

My Mom used to take only Ayurveda medicines.. Needs a lot of patience as the cure is gradual unlike the English medicine.. where in you take a tablet and the illness is gone..

Ayurveda doesn't have any side effects as the medicines cure the root cause of the problem and not the external signs...

Few medicines in Ayurveda do have potential side effects but what has changed over the years is the research behind the drugs of natural medicines & its standardization.
This has also improved the acceptance level among modern medicine prescribing physicians at least in India.

Ayurvedic cures are great but I believe that NO form of medicine should be practiced at the exclusion of all others. There are times where an ayurvedic cure is the best, and times when a western medicinal approach is the best, and times to rely on acupuncture or massage. The beauty of living at this time is that we have an entire world available to us and we can study and find the best cures from all disciplines.

I agree with Zara, now-a-days doctors in India also believe in same. The next step will be globalization of these practices. Instead of having a spoon of Corex for cough we have green tea with licorice & garlic.
Holistic approach! :P
