Default Burkini

Being a Muslim im not allowed to show my body parts (in front of men), but Im also someone who enjoys swimming, especially when going on beach holidays with my friends, and that's when I used to get stuck on what to wear so I can swim properly. But last week I heard about the burkini, which is a swim suit designed for Muslim girls, it covers you from top to bottom and is not skin tight, yet suitable for swimming. I have ordered it and will post an update once I try it out.

That's awesome!! I think it's really cute actually .

I'm not sure how to ask this.. and I really don't mean it in a bad way, I'm just 20 years old and so I'm very curious about the beliefs over there. Umm... so, do you like not being able to show your skin in front of men? Could you tell me more about it.. only if you'd like to of course...??

I'm just very, very interested in different cultures and beliefs and have lately been trying to better educate myself. Here in the US, it seems all we really focus on is ourselves and I really want to break free of that.

I think that makes a really cute outfit, too. Unlike a bikini, you can still wear that around town and not look sleazy. In countries like the Bahamas, it's not proper for you to walk around in your bikini. You're supposed to put at t-shirt or something over it. With the burkini, you don't even have to change. I like the wordplay, too.

@ Busy Bee - the question is quite simple that Abeja asked!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the burkini is quite good for those who are quite religious (as in Muslim girls), and it would allow them to do swimming which I know many girls love. I know if one of my cousins would see this she would get it as she is quite religious and wears a burka!

I was just wondering how she felt about not being able to wear a bikini. I'm just really curious because I've always lived in the US and I like to learn about peoples' opinions from other places.

Oh ok , i didnt quite get you the first time

It depends Abeja in many cultures wearing a bikini or any excess amount of bare skin is not encouraged.... so she probably feels more comfortable in a Burkini.

Anyone, no matter their religion, could feel uncomfortable in a bikini. I just don't want to show off my body. I'm pretty shy about showing skin, so I just try to stay away from those kinds of situations.
