Default Anarkali Dress

Fashion has changed again, and this time its anarkali dresses which are the latest trend in Indian fashion. After a time when short kameez (tops) were worn with salwars and churidars (bottom) it’s now the anarkali dresses which are slightly longer in length and is worn with churidar. The upper part of the anarkali dress is somewhat like a torso and is tight fitted just until where the ribcage is, the dress then turns into a frock with a lot of flare in it!

You can get the anarkali dress in many different colours, from light shades to dark shades and in many different styles and patterns which differ in their style work done on them. You will mainly find the dresses in georgette or chiffon material and in some cases also get it in crepe, silk or brocade material.

Yes anarkali dress is in, and in the very beginning the bottom half (the frock part) was very big and had a bigger flare, this only latest for a short while, but now its not as big and the anarkali dresses have half the flare.

I suppose its makes it more manageable and then the dress can be worn on any occasion!

The designers have now started experimenting with the material and design of anarkali frocks. Now we can find it in fril wok, short length and silk. They look really elegent and beautiful and attractive.

I can observe that most of the women here are of Indian race. Hi there! May I just say here that I am not of any Indian race but I have dresses cut like the Indian way. I have even worn one during a wedding wherein I was chosen to be one sponsor. The cut looked good on me and the comfort it brought was great!

For my fellow non-Indian friends... Picture a slightly shorter than tea length, empire waist party dress, with Indian embroidery and bead work worn with loose leggings. They are very cute. I'm seeing a lot of Kameez here in the states and I absolutely love the anarkali.

Ive seen long and short anarkali dresses which are both quite flairy as well as not that flairy, so I am kind of confused on this as in what trend is in regarding anarkali dresses?

well it actually depends on the body type.....

a long anarkali dress is usually worn with a churidar ....n looks really dressy on slimmer bodies....whereas a short one till knee length goes with churidars or loose salwars or patialas...... short ones are usually not that flairy n suits almost all kinds of bodies.....

I agree, I am not a big fan of that, the regular
churidar is classy.

I think it depends on the actual style of anarkali and how its been stitched and it also depends on the material its made from, which makes a lot of difference to the way a dress looks.

no matter what ... it still doesn't give definition to the waist.. i don't find the empire waist line .. appealing
