Now, the trend is that the women want to match their undergarments. Also, they want to match the outer tops and bottoms with that of the lingerie.

Plus-Size Women are the most neglected lot when it comes to their lingerie needs. The undergarments manufacturers have neglected the Full Figure or Plus-Size Women for long. Though the statistics reveal that the plus-size women are more in numbers than their zero size counterparts, their apparel and the accessory needs have not been met for long.

I agree, this is a largely neglected demographic. I don't know why because there's a lot of money to be made. Marketing people should also take into account the demographics of America--that people are getting bigger, not smaller, so this demographic is constantly growing.

It is true that people are getting bigger but there is no need to encourage that by offering a large array of plus size garments either. Besides, there are a lot selections for plus size undergarments or clothing. You can find them at major department stores or they even have specialized stores just for plus size women. I don't think they are neglected at all.

I'm not really encouraging people to get bigger, but since it's already happening, there's no need to make them feel bad. How often do you see an advertisement for plus sized underwear versus the "regular sized" Victoria Secret underwear? How many people in America can wear those sizes anyway?

I think manufacturers are beginning to realize this (the needs of plus size women) but in terms of advertising them, that's a totally different ballgame. It may take a while before we get plus size supermodels.
