Default Eating Too Much

I have had two cats now that just don't know when to stop eating. Does anyone have any tips on how to slow them down? The first cat I had must have had some kind of eating disorder, but for her it made sense, because she had been abandoned, so I'm sure she went through times with barely any food. However, the cat I have now has no reason to overeat. He always had food available to him... maybe my bf and I caused the problem by letting him eat whenever he wanted?

Is it true it's best for pets to have an eating schedule?

Well I'm not sure about that my pet doesn't eat that much I guess dogs aren't fond of eating a lot. I know cats do eat a lot because the neighborhood's cat keeps sneaking on our kitchen to steal some food at our table arg! I guess you should train him not to be like garfield.

Two of my cats are rather fond of eating. I have put them on IAMS weight control cat food, it is lighter on calories, and it does help.

I have tried feeding them on schedule - they won't leave me alone begging to fill their bowl if it's empty.

I have a friend who had a cat who overate. She had to only put down a certain amount of wet and dry food twice a day. Otherwise the cat would just eat and eat and make herself sick.

That's strange, because I always heard that dogs are the ones who overeat.. I have to deal with both lol. My dog would overeat if I let her

Oh my sophie and branco don't eat a lot even if they're inside the house the never touch our dinning table for food. While cats here in the neighborhood likes stealing some meat from us I remember last new year some cat here went and stolen some steaks.

We are taking care of a friend's dogs right now, they are small little things who don't eat a lot - unless we are talking about people food. Their bowls can stand full of dog food all day, but if there is people food around, they'll beg for it, and overeat if you let them.

I think all pets could get fat from people food. My cat is weird though, he won't touch people food
