Default Apartment Rules

It's really upsetting to see the long list of dogs that aren't allowed in apartments. My dog is an Akita/Chow mix, has an injured leg, and is the sweetest thing ever.. yet, she's not allowed at any apartments. I have always been tempted to just sneak her in, but I would hate to get caught. I've basically given up my dog to my dad because of this.. Does anyone know a way around this? Maybe I could prove that she really can't walk/run that fast and that she's nice??

Yes, those apartment rules are bad, and I don't know whether there is a way to become an exception. I see so many animals given up because the owner had to move, and the new place did not allow animals. That would break my heart. We have three cats, and there was a time we were in danger of losing our home. I don't know what I would do. I'd probably keep searching for a pet-friendly place, even if it would cost more.

Well you just have to follow them because there are really dogs that are too noisy. But I guess if your dog seldom barks, probably you can sneak him inside. My dog is really quite. I was able to sneak her in a hotel. I just placed her in my bag and then I was able to leave her inside the hotel room without getting caught because she didn't bark at all! ha!ha!

I figured out how to get past the rule lol. I lied about what breed she is lol. She's an Akita/Chow, but I said she's just an Akita. I'm so happy b/c now we can have my dog and his cat

Glad to hear you've found a way to have your doggie with you!!

What about the cat, are there limitations as well or was it okay to bring one?

Yep, everything's fine with the cat. There's no limitations with cats. I thought that was weird, because usually cats are the ones who trash places.. scratching up the walls and blinds and things like that

How come you didn't move into an apartment that accepted your type of dog? I'm sorry that you had to lie about it, but did you ever wonder what if you were caught?

Ya, but oh well. They can even look at her and they wouldn't be able to tell what type of dog she is. Plus, she's such a sweetie
