Default Do Animals Hate Me?

I've never had a dog before, and I'm starting to wonder if this may have something to do with it. Whenever a dog sees me (or hears/smells me), it starts barking. It's not a playful bark, either, but the kind of bark that indicates that it wants to bite you and tear you apart. The only kind of dog that doesn't react that way with me are seeing eye dogs, and that's only because they're trained not to bark. Has anyone had that experience with dogs?

This reminds me of the movie "The Omen". The dogs keep barking at Damien.
Can you check something out for me please? Could you see the back
of your head just above the neck? Is there a "666" there?

I think most dogs respond like that because they are protective over their domain. Alot of dogs are trained to protect their owners and owner's house.

I'm usually just minding my own business. When I was riding my bike, a man who was walking by was also walking his dog. It almost went crazy as it barked at me. The man had to hold his dog back. I'm so glad it was on a leash. It probably would have attacked me.

I have not experienced that, but I have been barked at when I was on a bike, so I think some dogs just react in this way to cyclists.

There was one dog who went after me with all teeth bared each time she saw me, but she was like that with everyone, not just me.

I'm starting to wonder if it could just be my scent. I know that animals, especially dogs, can suddenly become violent because of a certain scent, acting as a trigger.

Dogs can sense fear, so it could be that you're nervous when you know there's a dog around? A lot of dogs are very protective and seem like they're barking in a mean way, but they're really just nervous because they smell a new person around. You never know, if you were to go up to them (with help of the owner) I'm sure they'd stop barking and maybe even lick you My dog barks at me every single time I come to the door lol

Animals are not capable of hating like human beings. They purely act on instinct. They might simply find you threatening if they are barking at you. Or if you feel scared in the presence of a dog, it might also pick up on that as well.

Well, I know that animals can be trained to react a certain way around people, and I have heard that animals pick up on subconscious cues from their master. Maybe it's a little of that.
