Default Dog Bites?

Has anyone here ever been bitten by a dog? I remember when I was around 5 years old, I was accidentally bitten by our pet dog. He was old and blind, and while feeding him, I stuck my finger in along with the food. And yesterday, my in-laws' dog bit me on the leg when I was trying to leave. It was unprovoked, I was just about to leave the house when he did it. I think for one moment he went crazy and forgot who I was. But it isn't too big and isn't deep too. Just some abrasions.

Yes, when I was young, I was bitten by a friend's dog and ever since then I've kinda just stayed away from dogs. Sometimes it doesn't have to be provoked. I think parents should take extra precautions when children are around dogs and maybe the dogs do not know them. Seems like that is when they are likely to get bitten.

Nope. I haven't been bitten by a dog. I usually stay away from dogs except mine! Getting bitten is a bit scary because 5 shots of anti-rabies vaccine on separate dates are needed to protect one from getting rabies.

I'm so glad I've never been bitten by a dog, because I think it would make me scared of all dogs. I have been really lucky. I have had a lot of dogs run at me and act all intimidating, but luckily it has stopped at that.

I took the vaccine when we bought our dogs home when I was 16. I had a habit of playing even with stray dogs, which is why I was gifted with a pair of dogs. I don’t remember being bitten by any of those stray dogs but my own dog (Alpha) bite me when I was feeding him. I guess I wasn’t careful & the dogs were not adjusted to new environment.

You have to remember that eventhough you had the pre-exposure anti-rabies injection, you also have to get the booster doses. I think it's every 5 years.
And also when you get bitten, it doesn't mean that you won't get the anti-rabies shot. It depends on how long ago you had your pre-exposure anti-rabies shot.

Just thinking about getting bit scares me soooo bad! I would freak out! Funny thing is, I'm actually pretty scared of dogs, even though I've never been bitten

That's what scares me when it comes to dogs. When I was young I was just playing outside our fence then a dog keeps chasing me and bite me in my knee. Good thing the owner said the dog has no rabbies.

OMG how scary!! Ya.. I would be scared of dogs for life if that happened to me. I've never been seriously injured in my life. Well, I had stitches under my eye when I was 2 but I don't count that cuz I don't remember luckily

I was bitten by my own dog accidentally. While we were playing one time, he accidentally bite my finger while I was giving him his reward for perfecting his stunt.
