Default I want another dog

My husband does not want another one. We did have two but one died. I know right now we can`t afford to take care of another one, but when we can I want a small dog. Right now we have a shepherd. But my hubby keeps saying no. lol He wants to one day get a Cocker Spaniel. But I know that I would be the care giver and they have a lot of hair. I used to groom dogs and I didn`t like doing the cockers at all. Think I can change his mind?

Cocker Spaniels are so cute!

I have one dog and when she is gone, I will never get another one. They are like having a child. We like to travel and it always is so expensive to board the dog and then I worry about her the whole time I am gone.

Who knows if you can change his mind. Maybe if you go out and buy one and give it to your husband for Christmas!

It might take a little bit of convincing but I think you might be able to get him to agree with you. As in all things though, it is always best to be very subtle while trying to get him to change his mind - it might backfire if he sees it as nagging, lol.

I think you should tell him what are the problems that you encounter with dogs. That way maybe he would understand. Although those dogs were cute, if you don't like it then tell him. How about you, wouldn't you change your mind with dogs?

Well, if he agreed to help me take care of a cocker I would change my mind. He would have to share in the brushing they require and help clean up the shedding.

How about a pug, do you like them? They fur is very thick, but it is short and not messy. If you like them, I'd try to find some sneaky way to introduce your husband to a pug puppy. He might fall in love on the spot!

first off one of the last dogs you want around is a coccer spaniel. Coccer spaniels not only have grooming issues as others have mentioned, but they also have some of the most sever health isues of any pure breeds. also just if he "agrees to help with the dog it doesn't meen he will actually help. Lastly if you cant afford it anyway you really should not be worrying about doing this new dog thing.

I also want another dog... a small one right now due to space.. I'm thinking:
- lhapso apso
- Chihauau
- bichon frise
-chi poo
-pocket beagle
-Shih-Tzu
-Cavachon

Has anyone had any experience with these breeds, or have any advice ?

Come to think of it - this may not be a terrible idea: why don't you just go get it for one of your birthdays. If it's his birthday before yours, you can tell him that it's a gift for him and if it's yours, you can just say that you decided to treat yourself to a ''new dog'' for your special occasion, lol. I don't how he'll react but if you're really determined you want another dog, I think this would be one of the easiest ways to bring it home, heh.
