Default Does your pet spend much time alone at home?

I spend most of time at work, as I live alone, my dog spends the day alone. I get to play with her at night. But it breaks my heart when I leave her in the morning. I try to make it up by walking her twice a day, but still I feel guilty for not spending more time with her.

Does anyone else feel this way?

I have cats, so my situation is a little different, because I don't think they are as needy as dogs. But sometimes they come and sit by me and just stare at me while I'm working on the computer, because they want attention. And then sometimes I feel guilty, because I'm only going to have them for so long, and I want to enjoy time with them.

I know what you mean. Luckily, my bf and I have talked my dad into watching our dog for us when we're not at home. Anytime I leave my little bugger alone, he barks and howls like crazy. He's a dachshund. I've heard that they require a ton of attention and play time. I try to walk him as much as I can. Does anyone have any tips?

It seems that you are attached to your pet. I feel that way too but not most of the time. We have guinea pigs at home and my kids like to play with them. I don't think they would feel lonely. Why don't you leave the dog in your mom's place? That way, your pet wouldn't be alone.

Were you talking to me?

If so.. I do now let my dad watch both of my dogs most the time. I felt bad in the beginning cuz I didn't think it was fair for my dad to have to watch MY animals since I was the one who wanted them soooo badly. He's actually fallen in love with them to the point where it's hard to even get them back. Haha. But, now that I moved, it's pretty much decided that he gets to keep them. I hope one day I can at least take one of them with me. It's just.. the people I live with already have 4 animals. 2 dogs and 2 cats, so their house is full... but I miss my babies!! Especially the one I've had for a few years. She's been through a lot with me!!
