Post No Rest For The Weary

It seems I am constantly running like crazy; from work to church, to family, to school, etc. I have tried cutting out non-essential stuff, but I still find myself weary from the fast pace of my life.

I really want to go to part-time work, even though money is tight with me working full time. I just don't know how much longer I can keep going on like this. It is already affecting my relationship with my husband. Any advice?

Have you always been like this? Some people are more active than others, it is in their nature. They still need rest though. I would suggest trying to prioritize. See what is the most important and what can be left out / let go. You say you have already tried getting rid of some of the activities, that's good. Don't feel pressured to do everything under the sun. You are only human.

Take a time off to relax for a day, and review your schedule. You can make a daily time schedule and stick to it, so that you can manage your time more effectively. Planning your time wisely is the best advice I can give.

If you're working 5days a week why not devote a one day weekend just to relax yourself. That way you can think peacefully on what to do in the next weekend.

I know from a very reliable source that there is rest for the weary. Rest comes when we stop pursing the things and the ways that are causing us stress. Stress can make use physically ill, mentally ill and affect our relationships (as you stated in your post).

Instead of trimming the branches ("cutting out non-essential stuff"), try pulling up the roots. Get to the root of the problem. For example, the root cause could be desires, or trying to live up to expectations.

Actually, no I haven't always been like this. Only since I started my current job. I have started looking at trying to cut back to part time.

I would love to do that if I could, but Sunday I am usually in church which only leaves Sunday for everything that didn't get done during the work week. So, the only time I really get a day to relax is when I'm sick or if we have some kind of holiday.
