Default Domestic and Inter-country Adoption laws

Becuase of the high population rate that the world has at the moment, with several couples not being fortunate enough to bear children, adoption has been resorted to. And inorder to protect the interests and rights of the children as well as to safeguard those of the prospective adopters, several laws have been passed for this purpose. To me the establishment of these laws paved the way for the establishment of a good future of both the adoptees and the adopting parents.

Although I am only 25, I plan to adopt later in life. I am unaware of the laws above as I am new to the topic, I would like to hear more about them.

I know that the adoption laws in some countries can be very strict. In China, they seem to have very strict rules about who can adopt their children, and it can be expensive as well as take a lot of time. Maybe it's a good idea to start looking early.

I don't know much about the laws when it comes to adopting, but I'm sure the fact that it takes so long to adopt, it causes many to opt for pregnancy. I think it's great that they are working on making adopting safer though..

I know that if you want to adopt from Russia, you can only take a child with a health problem; they keep healthy babies for themselves. I know this because a couple of my friends had adopted a girl from a Russian orphanage. She had crooked legs that required surgery to correct. BTW, they did the surgery when they brought her to the US, and the girl is fine now.

There are so many countries who set their standards so high for adoption. It's not like the child will have a better life living in an orphanage in a third world country. I understand that they want to ensure the welfare of the child, but still.
