I always thought it was nearly impossible to adopt in the USA. I was watching a tv show the other day and they had a bunch of orphans in Florida that they took to Disney. It made me so sad to see all of these children who are orphans. I would take on in in a minute. Does anyone know about adoption in the US?

All I have heard is that it takes a VERY long time. They do background checks and all kinds of things before you can have the child. I've alwasy wondered though. People make it sound like it could take years, but that seems rediculous to me.

It is a very long and intrusive process. It is somewhat easier to adopt older and troubled children because the government wants to be relieved of the responsibility. My husband and I have had trouble conceiving and considered adoption but after learning about the process we decided it would be better to do IVF with egg donation. It is cheaper and faster. |
