Default Adopting vs Giving Birth

With all the poverty in the world and all of the overpopulation, and the children without homes, I think I would feel guilty not to adopt. I'm all for adoption, even when it comes to pets. Every pet I have ever had was adopted. It's so rewarding knowing you're saving a creature's life, and making it better than it would have been otherwise.

I wish more people did feel like you, but at the end of the day, there is nothing like having your own children.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not at all against adoption, infact if I ever go live back in the UK I want to become a foster parent, and give something to those children that need help.

A friend of mine adopted her first little boy this year, but that was after trying to have her own baby with failed IVF attempts.

I would love to adopt a child, but my husband is not into the idea. I figure maybe after we have one or two of our own, he might be more open to it.

I do hope people wouldn't bully these adopted kids when they grow up. That's the kind of treatment they got here in our place. When you're a foster many will look down on you and I wish that kind of attitude will be gone. It's always good to have your own kids also better if you could spare some of the love you have to others who are in need.

I would love to be able to help out one of those kids; however, just speaking for myself, I would not be able to have a child live with me unless he or she were my flesh and blood. There is just something about that bond that can't be duplicated or replaced...

I admire people who adopt children, it is such a noble thing to do. I never saw it as anything to look down at; why in the world?? Whether the people can't have their own children or just decide to open their homes for an orphan, it is a beautiful thing.
